Burmese Star Tortoise

Burmese Star Tortoise
The Burmese star tortoise is the largest of the star tortoises, with the females growing slightly bigger than males and reaching lengths of 14 inches. This size makes them easy to manage and enjoy as they don’t get too heavy. This species is not destructive, doesn’t burrow, and are cold tolerant, although they do not brumate so they require a heated house outdoors for temperatures in the fifties. They are well known for their striking gold and black geometric patterned shells, and friendly curious personalities. Their non-aggressive behavior amongst each other make them a very peaceful species that does well in groups.
This tortoise was produced by our female Pumpkin who is a F1 Hoekstra line Burmese star tortoise and is housed with a F1 Hoekstra line male, it hatched 4-26-24, currently weighing 100g, measuring 3” along the plastron, and was incubated for female.
*Please note incubation for temperature sex determination does not guarantee the sex.
