The smallest of the Hermann’s tortoises is the Tuscany locality of the Western Hermann’s tortoise, Tesduo hermanni hermanni. As adults they averaging 4-5” with the females being slightly larger then the males. Their golden yellow and black shell coloration makes them very visually appealing and their environmental hardiness makes them a great tortoise for beginners.

This tortoises hatched on 8-7-24, currently weighing 40g, is just over 2” along the plastron, and the sex is unknown.
